Life’s Ins & Outs

*Entry taken from journal in Mid-June, 2021

You may be a little confused as to why I've included this entry from 2021 where 16 y/o Lauren explains why she began journaling. I actually started up this website at that time, knowledgeable that I wouldn't be able to juggle the task of posting every so often.

I thought it would be even more sincere to kickstart my blog with an authentic perspective of my younger self and the words she chose to express why life can seem so simple, yet complicated.

I'm New to This!

Hello, I figured I would write in here today since I previosuly ripped out pages containing my love life of catholic school. As for an intro, think of me as a half-introverted girl with an over abundant thinking space that needed to be spilled out onto paper. Currently, I am sitting by the pool and enjoying the sun while it lasts. Lol--PA weather.

It's the Little Things

Yesterday I received my first covid vaccine, which I didn't think would effect my well-being at all. Well, I was wrong. Today, I feel slightly weak, but trying to push through the detrimental times and focus on the little things to be grateful for. Lately, it's been so easy to cherish life and the opportunities it brings everyday. I love thinking about the future, and all the endless possibilities it holds, rather than dwelling on the past and its circumstances.

A year ago today, my family and I were camped in our beloved suburban home, enjoying the company of having my brothers home from college. Today, I am sitting outside a new home, taking a relaxing day away from work. And tomorrow, I will await another day of spending time with family, since it is Father's Day weekend.

My mother and I also have some exciting days ahead of us, including going to the beach, shopping, and going on picnics. Recently, I have been trying to keep my past joys close, but my new adaptations closer. It is so important to live life to the fullest, and indulge in the changes it brings daily.

Life is something that is so unique, since everyone is able to have a story and determine for themselves how they would like to write it. Sure, there might be some crossouts or scribbles that one may endure, but those moments are the ones that are worth growing from. Never forget your worth and attributes that have been inherited, and always dial in on the aspects you can acquire. Life is short.

See you soon,

Lauren
